The new Spring 2019 collection from Yankee Candle is out! Some of these are already available in stores, some you can find online but you can track down all the new candles if you decide you need them right now.
The theme for the Yankee Candle Spring 2019 collection is »Sunday Brunch« and it will come out in two parts. First part of the spring 2019 collection will be out in early January 209 and the last three scents will be out in April 2019. All together we’ll get 7 new candles in the Sunday Brunch collection. This collection is limited edition.
We’ll get three more new fragrances for spring 2019 though. The 4 new scents are going to be a part of the core line and I’m going to review them in a separate article so we don’t get too messy here.
I’ll post detailed reviews of each candle here so to avoid scrolling a bunch you can just click on each candle name and it will take you directly to the individual review.
The first part of the Spring 2019 collection will contain 4 new scented candles. The second part will add three more scents. Lavender Gelato was out last year as limited edition scent and they brought it back for this collection. It’s a great scent so I don’t mind at all.
- Yankee Candle Floral Candy

Yankee Candle Floral Candy should smell like flowers, sugar crystals, creamy frosting.
This scent is so interesting and so different. It’s basically a mixture of a classic cotton candy scent and a green floral note. The floral is a sweet green scent note. It’s the note that is mostly used for spring flowers like tulips and daffodils. Both notes don’t really go together but there’s the creamy vanilla frosting overlay that somehow manages to make the fragrance work and blends both parts into a unique candle. I feel like this will be liked by most people because of the cotton candy note that always seems to be a hit and while the floral part is new and different it’s done well.
Yankee Candle Belgian Waffles scent notes are: a crisp lattice cradling melted butter.
Yankee Candle didn’t play around with Belgian Waffles. This is straight up gourmand fragrance, nothing added here. It’s a bit plain to me. I wouldn’t eat a plain waffle and I honestly don’t think that smelling a plain waffle is all that appealing. If they added a faint strawberry jam note, a mango jam note, maple syrup, honey…you see what I’m saying here. It just needs something to…pour over top of the waffle.
All that being said, it smells very true to actual buttery waffles or pancakes. And honestly, having a plain smelling candle like this gives you so many options when it comes to layering. I’ve layered this with pretty much all the scents I’ve mentioned above and I’m burning it with a blueberry candle right now. Overall, love it when it’s layered and I find it boring when burning on its own.
Yankee Candle Blush Bouquet official fragrance profile is: pink peonies, lilies and citrus blossoms.
Burning Blush Bouquet I smell the peony and lilies mix. There’s a lot more peony in the mix, which I much prefer as I quite often find lily to be too strong of a scent note for home fragrance. The citrus is in the background, trying to freshen up the scent and not let it get into the “mature lady perfume” territory.
Personally I think this need more citrus blossom though. I just don’t find it fresh enough for a spring floral fragrance. The peony alone leans a lot towards a rose scent which we all now can smell really musty really fast. So as a rule you need to put a bunch of green and citrus notes in to get it away from musty old rose vibes into fresh pink peony vibes. Sometimes these peony or cherry blossom candles can miss the mark completely because they try to freshen up the core scent and they end up smelling like body wash. With Yankee Candle Blush Bouquet they did stay in the floral lane and it’s an OK scent if a bit on the perfumey side. I just wish they added a green leaf note or really went in heavy with the citrus blossom.
Yankee Candle Sweet Morning Rose should smell like a confection garnished with rose petals.
There is a scent called Pink Petal Tea Cake from BBW that remains hugely popular with the online wax community. It’s said to be the ideal mixture of floral and food scent notes. True wax enthusiasts have been layering easily available wax and candles for years now to get similar balanced mixtures because there simply wasn’t a candle that would replace the original.
Yankee Candle Sweet Morning Rose is not a dupe for Pink Petal Tea Cake. It is however done in a similar vein. There is a soft, pretty rose note and there’s the vanilla cake note. The mixture is heavier on the cake side, which is how it should be to avoid the rose scent to overpower the overall fragrance. This is well done, the rose and vanilla cake complement each other well. It’s definitely a scent to try because it sounds like an odd mixture but it’s really good. Like Lavender Gelato it’s somewhat unexpected because it’s such a twist to a classic home fragrance note like rose but it’s done really well.
Yankee Candle White Strawberry Bellini scent notes are mango and pineapple and strawberry.
Burning Yankee Candle White Strawberry Bellini I get the classic strawberry smoothie scent that Yankee does fairly often. They do it well though. This 2019 version has the strawberry, and mango, with strawberry dominating the mixture. The pineapple is very faint. I could smell it at certain times and lost it completely a few times. There’s a creamy vibe to it and it’s less sweet than I expected which I really appreciate. It’s more fruit than candy and with the creamy overlay it’s a lovely smoothie scent that can easily be burned during the summer as well.
This candle was out in 2017 for a limited edition spring collection and it’s back for 2019. It smells like a sweet, honeyed, fresh lavender with some blueberry notes added to it. It does smell like a gelato. It definitely has a foody aspect which is super interesting because it’s basically a lavender scent. I think this is very unique. It’s calming and lovely and I’d recommend it to anyone that enjoys a lavender scented candle.
Yankee Candle Grilled Peaches & Vanilla should smell like brown sugar and honey, juicy grilled peaches and vanilla cream.
Burning Yankee Candle Grilled Peaches & Vanilla I smell the peach and creamy vanilla ice cream. It’s not a repackage of last year’s Peaches and Cream. The caramelized brown sugar and honey notes in this definitely give it a grilled feeling which is a wonderful and interesting twist. The creamy vanilla note fits well and I think this is the best scent of the collection. I like how its’ such a classic pairing of peaches and vanilla cream but they managed to make it something totally new. I also appreciate that even with all the honey and sugar in here it’s still a mostly fruit and cream fragrance meaning that it didn’t get too saturated with all the sweetness.
Overall the collection fits the theme perfectly. Personally I love spa type scents for early spring so all the gourmand scents aren’t that appealing but personal preferences aside I think the collection is a hit. The candle with the biggest mass appeal is probably Yankee Candle Grilled Peaches & Vanilla just because I feel like floral candles can be sort of a love or hate for most people. It does help that most florals have a big gourmand note mixed in and I really like that they went with so many scents like this. I also feel like Belgian Waffles will be a hit but do pull out your old jam and berry candles because this candle was made to be layered.
