Yankee Candle Build a Snowman is a new scent for the Winter Holiday Christmas 2017 season. Yankee came out with a Build a Snowman candle in 2014 and that was later brought back as a treasure in 2015 but the 2017 version is a different scent entirely.
The 2014 Build a Snowman version was very similar to Jack Frost with the sweetened peppermint fragrance. The 2017 Build a Snowman version is a woodsy vanilla fragrance that is quite close to Yankee Candle Dreamy Summer Nights.
Yankee Candle Build a Snowman smells like Vanilla Bean and Vanilla Sugar mix over a citrus and cedar wood base. It’s pretty basic in terms of the mix alone, it lacks the floral middle tones that Dreamy Summer Nights has and it’s less warm because it doesn’t have the amber.
The fragrance is fine, I’d like either more citrus or a bit of mint to make it more interesting. The biggest issue I had with the candle was the throw.
The scent throw was a weak 3 out of 10. It barely managed to scent a small portion of my living room which is unacceptable for a scented candle with that kind of a price tag.
When a candle is that light, it also makes it impossible for me to try and layer it with other scented candles, as anything I mix with it will just drown it out.
I hope you enjoyed my Yankee Candle Build a Snowman review.
