The Village Candle Lemon Pound Cake is one of those scented candles I kept hearing about but for some reason I thought I’ll only be able to find Village Candles online so I sort of put them out of my mind and off my wish list. But surprisingly I actually found a local store that carries some Village Candle scented candles so I went and gave them a sniff and Village Candle Lemon Pound Cake came home with me.
I bought Village Candle Lemon Pound Cake in a small jar. It has a single wick and light lemon colored wax. I figured if I really fell in love with this scent I can always pick up a large jar later. I’ve never tried a lemon bakery scented candle before so I have nothing to compare Lemon Pound Cake to, but I really like this scent.
It’s a definite bakery scent. I get a lot of vanilla cupcake scent, there’s a hazelnut note, a light lemon zest note and a sweet citrus or rater lemon scent as well.
I did my research online before I burned this candle and I read that Village Candle sometimes have wick issues so to avoid drowning or puny wicks I didn’t trim the wicks at all and got a nice even burn. I got a good wax pool in about an hour and I would say the throw is strong which is great for a small jar. My kitchen got scented in about half an hour and I burn it mostly around tea time and after supper because that’s the time I prefer these dessert type scents.
