Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor scented candle Review and comparison with Yankee Candle Red Berry and Cedar

This is my Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor scented candle Review and comparison with Yankee Candle Red Berry and Cedar.

Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor was a part of my latest Goose Creek Candle haul I made online. I only got wax melts to save on shipping and this time, I only bought winter and holiday scents. I really enjoyed Goose Creek’s Fall scents this year, I think they’re getting better every year and I’ll definitely haul their new winter collection as well.

Based on the fragrance description I knew it’s not really a fragrance I’ll fall in love with, but the label on this is so perfect and I just really wanted to try out Goose Creek’s winter and woody notes, so in the cart it went.

The official scent notes in Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor are: red berries, cinnamon, vanilla bean, white cedar and smokey firewood.

Melting Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor, it’s a really interesting woody fragrance. I get the wood with a hint of smoke and the aromatic resin. Under that, I smell orange and clove, mixed with cranberries. Goose Creek do a very nice smoke note. I can’t take Village Candle’s version and I’m OK with the Yankee’s version but Goose Creek usually pair it with the wood resin note and it ends up being really good. The cranberry note is quite tart and the spiced orange balances it well with the sweetness.

This is not a dupe of Yankee Candle’s Red Berry and Cedar. Yes, they’re both woody with berry notes, but Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor has the smoke and the resin, adding depth and strength to the wood part of the fragrance, and the spiced citrus adds warmth and sweetness.

Out of the two, I like this one for the complexity of the woody side and the spice but I find that Yankee Candle Red Berry and Cedar would be more of an everyday/people coming over candle, since it’s easier on the nose and lacks any smoke notes.

The scent throw on one piece of the wax melt is a 7. It scented my medium sized office in 10 minutes and I had to move it to a larger room after half an hour, to dilute it a bit.

I hope you enjoyed my Goose Creek Candles Winter Splendor scented candle Review and comparison with Yankee Candle Red Berry and Cedar and I’ll talk to you soon!
